This years MTV Video Music Awards received quite the coverage following a startling announcement from Beyonce who is now eating for 1+1 equals 2...yep preggers! Oh and Lady Gaga became Brady Gaga for the entire night dressed as her male alter ego Joe from her You and I video. Not one to be outdone however, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna dropped their hotly anticipated visual for their team up 'Fly'. About time!
Having tweeted a pic on set of the apocalyptic video way back in January, fans were treated to the empowering track's official clip in which Minaj joins the ranks of this years ultimate theme...the end is near. Kesha, Willow Smith, Britney Spears and Katy Perry have all debuted videos with a 2012 doomsday scenario in mind but Minaj and RiRi's screams more I Am Legend...where is Will Smith and his dog when you need him?
The video itself is pretty clear cut. Seems Nicki and Rihanna are the only two girls who run the world and I can honestly say I am more than OK with that. Throw in a ninja battle and around 3 million wardrobe changes and you have what can only be described as something from the mind of the Minaj.
The clip was directed by Sanaa Hariri, who previously worked with Minaj on her smash hit 'Superbass' which walked away with 'Best Hip-Hop Video'. Katy Perry tweeted the rapper following the reveal posting "I watched fly last night and it is beautiful!" Aww bless. Friends forever!
