CHICK VS DICK

Kaykay and Paul guess the prices of objects.
And they get to keep the object! Hahaha!

Meet Paul's science project: A penis volcano.
He is so funny I swear!!!

Happy Halloween y'all!!!!!!!

I'm getting old so this Halloween imma go have dinner with Shuyin and Weili and after that, imma play mahjong again!

I know right? My life is so exciting!

(Am I a prude or what? I saw some of the costumes Singaporeans are wearing and I am seriously quite shocked by the level of skimpiness. Do you think it's ok to wear a bra top or panties bottom on Halloween? Is it just me? Am I getting old and narrow-minded????????)

UPDATE:
Quit quoting Mean Girls, you fucktards. I heard that shit so many times I could implode if I see another comment spreading that dumbass quote as gospel.

"Gossip Girl" Style

I must confess, I watch "Gossip Girl" as a guilty pleasure. Who can blame a girl when the fashion is this good?

[Dark Moon Juices]

While the moon is dark and the apartment is empty, it’s time to do some mental and physical housekeeping. Dishes, midterm papers, laundry, credit card bills, dust cattle and an appallingly dirty studio floor all demand attention. It’s so easy to let all the little abandoned tasks, crumpled receipts, minor annoyances and unfinished to-do lists pile up—it all seems insignificant but even a ton of feathers is still a TON of feathers! It’s time to finish stubborn work, sweep psychic static out the door, splash around in salt water, light candles, sit down with my sketchbook and regain focus.

My goal for this month is to draw daily. I used to—but somehow the time slipped away from me. I need to let my ideas hatch and crawl around for a while before I commit them to canvas. And I want to draw not only to plan but to regain the joy of the process. Just doodling, scribbling, smushing and shading. I know people who cringe at the idea of leaving ideas unfinished in a sketch journal…It’s a “sketch book” not a “masterpiece book”! I don’t need the work to be elaborate or fully rendered, but done more so as ritual-- done to serve as evidence that my creative juices are alive and well.
Does anyone out there draw daily? Does it help the state of your juices?

Make-up: fall/ winter 08

I don't know if I will be rockin' the dark lips myself, but I do love the berry lip shades and grey eyeshadow.

[This is WE]

When they are with Her, they are Queens of ostrich plumes and strings of crocodiles teeth—She Hounds, wired and aware. When they are with Her- their skins are diamonds, rosy and wild candied fly wings. When I am with HER, I am made of stitched up swan parts, sure footed and insane. I speak in tongues of leaves, the recently deceased and lavish faun dreams—of dripping water, willow trees and the thousands of ticklish thistles. When I am with Her, me is I, this is WE and She is US—due cause for Upper Case. WE is grounds for celebration—strange festivities and acclamation in memory of the dreams we never had, all the fires we never sparked and all the books whose spines we have long forgotten...

Maman Brigitte...

It was an extraordinarily blustery daythe wind was loud enough it woke me up. We bundled up in sweaters and scarves and set out to drop off a new batch works at the Little Shop gallery. It’s a beautiful brand new space full of a lush variety of works by local artists. I know the proprietoress, Suzanne, is concerned about the lack of traffic lately. I’m certain that business will pick up as the holidays approach. We’ve all noticed it—the TV keeps shouting economic disaster is descending upon us, so everyone is terrified to spend on art or other life enhancing goodies. Despite the impending doom, I am positive that interest will build and business will be bubbling as the weather gets chillier.

I was doodling in my studio a few days ago when I came across some old scribbled research notes I’d stashed away in a sketchbook. Among scrawls concerning the triple goddess aspects of Brigid I had written “Saint Brigit—incarnations: Saint Bride, Maman Brigitte…” I suddenly remembered Maman Brigitte, the spicy New Orleans Voodoo queen and decided I needed to create her portrait. Brigitte is the snarky foul mouthed Keeper of the Spirit World and fierce punisher of evil doers. With Halloween creeping closer she seemed an appropriate subject and I set to work on her pallid Day of the Dead face paint and a powdered pile of cobweb colored hair…
I'm not sure that she's finished, but I'm unsure of what to do. She'll be gaurding my work space until decide what details are missing.

Locust Leaves: They're Speaking

At this point in autumn, I usually feel a little anxious—like I can feel something smoldering. There is always that strange damp, earthy, burning smell that permeates everything. I purposely miss the bus so I can make the chilly trek home and sift through fallen locust leaves, trying to read them like they mean something. My guts tell me it’s time to start nest building, that nightly frosts are just the beginning. I've seen 21 autumns and the bouquet of colors and textures never ceases to amaze me. Between the pallets of pumpkin patches and mums there is something that whispers, "Go forth and finger paint!" So, I today I set to work on a swirling autumn goddess…

What does your autumn goddess look like? What are the leaves telling you?

Welcome!

Welcome to Her Speak!
This blog is devoted to magical musings and my studio tinkerings.

I am a fine arts student who is fascinated by the sacred feminine—it infiltrates my art, my music and my everyday minutia. As a solitary eclectic pantheist I have found great comfort and endless inspiration in the positive blogging community. I decided it was time I jumped on the blogging bandwagon to make my own contributions! I plan to post work that is hot and fresh out of the oven and I welcome your comments and constructive criticisms.

Do you create goddess-centric work or are you inspired by the divine mundane? I look forward to hearing from you!

Best~

Canon scrapbook

Talk about photoshopping your ass off! I've been working on this the whole day!

Anyway I'm just gonna post random "cute" photos I took with my sponsored Canon Powershot E1. I'm not gonna go into product specs lah! Just look at the pics and judge the quality yourself!!

Eh... My initial plan for a cute scrapbook was to go to Ikea to snap photos of people's babies. Then with the second parent I asked, I was rudely shoo-ed away before I could even complete my question! So I gave up on that idea and so... No babies!

I hope you enjoy it anyway, and sorry for the lateness!
