Jurassic Park Returns To Big Screen

The year is 1993. The average house price in the UK was £68,000. Police began to investigate reports of child abuse against pop-sensation Michael Jackson. Bill Clinton became President of the United States...oh and Dinosaurs walked the Earth once more. Huh? That can't be right?

Don't panic I'm only talking about one of the greatest films to ever grace our minds and hearts alike. Steven Spielberg's Sci-Fi adventure thriller Jurassic Park. Chills every time I say it out loud btw.

Jump to 2011, the Spielberg classic spawned two successful sequels (Jurassic Park 3 was rubbish and should be stricken from the record) and now one of the fourth highest grossing films of all time, the Dino flick has made its return to the Big Screen and what a return it is.

When billionaire John Hammond decides to create an 'out of this world' theme park filled with genetically engineered Dinosaurs from the Cretaceous era, paleontologists Dr. Grant and his partner Ellie land the offer of a lifetime in studying the once extinct creatures first hand. That is until the power goes out and all those electric fences become but a playground for nature's forgotten Kings to wreak havoc. Hold on to your night vision goggles lads...you are going to need them.

Take note, Raptors and that bloody T-Rex make terrifying noises on the big screen (a baby elephant mixed with a tiger and alligator apparently) and the nostalgic feeling of watching JP on the big screen reminds me of the first time I saw the film way back when I was five years old hiding under my Father's leather jacket for pretty much the majority of the future blockbuster hit. I'm not ashamed to admit it either as that's what's so damn good about it.

Dinosaurs shouldn't co-exist with man because quite frankly we would all be raped off the face of the Earth by Raptors. You bred Raptors? Yes he bloody did and now we are all going to die! Stupid John Hammond! Messing with things you can't possibly understand.

Jurassic Park is based on the hit novel by Michael Crichton and stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and a small yet significant role for Samuel J! Jurassic Park racked up Academy Awards for Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing and Best Visual Effects harnessing the use of computer-generated-imagery to its full potential along with the use of animatronic Dinosaurs.

Jurassic Park is available in partaking cinemas across the UK. Take a look at Spielberg's masterpiece in the trailer below.
