The Cold War: A Fashion Fight Off Part 1

Well that's a rap guys...the Spring/Summer Season is officially over but don't fret you SADs as I have just the thing to cheer you up. No I have not harnessed the power of the Sun in the palm of my hands, I have however found 2011s most sought after collections, looks and styles to give the hottest Autumn/Winter Season yet. Ain't so bad.

Each week I will delve into a new chapter as I put designer against highstreet (Gok Whan eat your heart out mate) in a battle of fur, wool and all things color related. To start the stylish ball rolling, its time for Zara and Calvin Klein to fashion fight it out. DING DING DING.

One crucial element of A/W11 is the aspect of keeping in line with the best trends of S/S11 in adopting some of the crucial looks such as colored chinos for example merely tailoring your current wardrobe to suit this harsher season (bare in mind its bloody freezing 9 out of 12 months like!). So keep the colors but get the warmth basically by adding woolen accessories, but the best look has to be the high waisted trousers/chinos paired with a jumper of any kind tucked in at the waist. Go that extra mile by adding a denim shirt or colored oxford shirt underneath.

Something Calvin Klein have more than highlighted with their striking blues and whites.

Zara do of course have the look of a designer brand and are rather well respected in high street retailing terms landing in an affordable bracket for the modern man. Great on trend coats, jackets, knitwear and even a knitted blazer all provide great pieces for the upcoming months.

Its a tough one for sure, but I'm going to have to go with CK on this one for the sheer inclusion of all the blue! No depressing colors for me this season! I'm going to cheat though and just get a woolen/knitted blazer and wear it with my light blue or navy blue chinos! Muhahahaha.

Take a look at more of what Calvin Klein and Zara's Menswear Autum/Winter 2011 Collections have to offer in the clips below.
