London Fashion Week: McQ by Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen's sister label McQ presented at London Fashion Week last night for the first time to showcase the Autum/Winter 2012 Ready-To-Wear collection.

Designed by Creative Director Sarah Burton the runway sported militant coats and sleevwless suit cut dresses in a mix of black, light grey and a passive nude shades. Red velvet dresses kept the Gothic/Victorian tale of McQueen's previous lines, whilst the embellished prints and embroidery were positioned appropriately throughout.

Naturally the menwear followed suit, minus the velvet dresses with mixtures of leather and heavy woolen suits on display. Gold buttons and buckles emphasised the Victorian element focusing on a mixture of classic and modern cropped tailoring.

Of course there was the trademark McQueen finish which saw model Kristen McMenamy strut her stuff in a Corpse's bride white gown revealing a neon wooden hut in amongst the fallen leaves and eery trees. Standard.

A McQ flagship store is set to open in Dover Street in London this coming Spring and will stock Womenswear, Menswear and Accessories. Samantha Cameron and Salma Hayek sat front row. McQ was launched back in 2006. McQueen's full collection is set to showcase in Paris Fashion Week in March.
