New Pussycat Dolls Line-up Revealed

A mere few weeks after details revolving around a new reality show hit the web documenting the formation of Pussycat Dolls 2.0, it seems the new burlesque-turned-recording-group line-up has been revealed.

Drum solo please...The new Pussycat Dolls are Lauren Bennett (Party Rock Anthem), Jamie Ruiz, Vanessa Curry, Alexis Steele and Tiffany Zavala.

Pussycat Doll creator and founder Robin Antin stated way back in July that the group's new membership had been finalised and that each of the new Dolls would sing.

Both Jamie and Vanessa were a part of the original re-vamp of the group which included former lead doll Nicole Scherzinger, FAME star Kherington Payne and SYTYCD's Rino.

Lauren Bennett was previously a member of Robin Antin's flop girl group The Paradiso Girls, whilst Jamie Ruiz also starred on Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious but failed to make it past episode five. Both their positions along with Vanessa's were confirmed earlier in the week via the PCD official Facebook page.

Their new show currently has no official air date but the unveiling of the new Pussycat Dolls is rumored to be scheduled for December. Just in time for supposed new music also rumored to drop by the end of the calendar year. The Pussycat Dolls second DVD workout is released October 4.

Buffy's Back On TV in New Show Ringer

That's right folks, the Chosen One has returned. Sadly not to reprise her role as Buffy the Vampire Slayer but Sarah Michelle Gellar has returned to play not one, but two lead characters on the small screen for new CW show Ringer.

Gellar takes on the challenging parts of twin sisters Bridget Kelly and Siobhan Martin who lost contact as a result of Bridget's damaging behaviour. Now a recovering alcoholic, Bridget sets out to mend old wonds only to find herself stealing her twin sister's identity following Siobhan's apparent suicide.

From the outset of the pilot episode it is clear Bridget's had a tough life. A former stripper, prostitute, drug and drink addict now on the run from cops and a mob boss who wants her dead. By the end however it seems the apple doesn't fall far from the completely messed up tree with the reveal of Siobhan's less than perfect life.

A secret, steamy affair with her best friend's husband Henry (played by Kristoffer Polaha who starred alongisde Gellar's fellow Buffy/Angel alumni Eliza Dushku in Tru Calling). A seemingly loveless marriage to husband Andrew (Fantastic Four's Mr Fantastic Ioan Gruffudd) and a pregnancy to boot. Oh and someone wants her dead too. Bound to be one set of proud parents somewhere I'm sure.

The questions just keep rolling in by the time episode comes to a halt, especially the big reveal of a not-so-dead Siobhan So you drugged your twin sister after telling her you forgive her, then you fake your own death leaving her alone on a boat in the ocean. Nice. Anyone else heard of this thing called theraphy? Aww well I'm just happy SMG has gotten out of the house and hasn't stumbled into a ridculously low budget horror film.

The show premiered on September 13, paired with 90210 on The CW Network on a Tuesday night. Ringer is penned by Supernatural writer Eric Charmelo alongside co-executive producer Nicole Snyder.

X-Factor USA Episode Three: The Good. The bad and the Nicole

Episode three of X-Factor US debuted in the UK last night searching stateside for the ultimate talent, but is the American incarnation anything to write home about?

The show stopped off in Chicago last night as the penultimate auditions began in the City called home by the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Kanye West and R Kelly as judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, LA Reid, Nicole Scherzinger and ousted UK fan-fav Cheryl Cole (for the last time) all returned in search of the next big star.

The Good: I adore LA Reid and need him as a father/mentor figure in my life asap! The man is so damn grounded, sophisticated and basically worthy of worship. One crucial element of the show is his character and drive to actually find talent as the US version focuses whole-heartedly on raw talent rather than the lame lacklusters featured heavily on this side of the pond.

The Bad: Paula Abdul. Or should that be Abdull since she is about as interesting as a highly medicated fox. The chemisty between the judges is nowhere near in comparison to the new UK line-up. As for eye candy Steve Jones...does he ever present the show or just stand beside the contestants family and friends with his arm around them?

The Nicole: Already in the firing line from the both American and British media slating her as a poor 'downgrade' replacement for Cheryl, former lead Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger certainly isn't making things easy for herself. This week finds the 'stop at nothing to be seen/heard/known' Nicole cause utter humiliation for one weak singer and refusal to put through another phenomenal vocalist leaves us bewildered on just what the hell she is playing at.

Come back when you have finally secured any real major solo success as a stand alone artist love. PCDs had the voice (Nicole/Mel), the moves (Kim, Ash, Jess), the electricity, the history and more importantly the X-Factor. Nicole just has the ego.

In the words of Christina Aguilera, 'must talk so big to make up for smaller things'. Yeah, Nic's album sales.

X-Factor US airs Thursday and Friday nights in the UK over on ITV2 at 8pm. The show originally debuted last week with 12.5 million viewers in the US falling to 11.2 million this week.

Take a look at Nicole humiliating a young girl in front of over 4,000 people from last night's Chicago auditions below.

Alexander Skarsgard Covers Men's Journal

True Blood Season Four may have come to a brutal climax last month, but for next month's cover of the American mens' lifestyle magazine Men's Journal, Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard, who plays smoldering vamp Eric Nordman on the hit HBO show, has nailed a certain look of intensity. It could be confusion? We aren't quite sure.

No matter what look he was going for, Skarsgard shows off the 'guns', talks about his Navy past, his thoughts on Kirsten Dunst's comments regarding his 'goofy' personality and his reactions to the amount of female (and let's be honest, male, cat and dog) attention he finds himself garnering.

Alexander Skarsgard is currently promoting two films. The Lans Von Trier directed apocalyptic movie 'Melancholia' starring alongside Kirsten Dunst and Kiefer Sutherland which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May and 'Straw Dogs'. A 1971 remake by Rod Lurie also starring James Marsden and Kate Bosworth. Both are out on the big screen now.

Take a look at Alexander Skarsgard in Lans Von Trier's trailer for 'Melancholia' below.

#19 Completed, Still Working on #30

Oh, my poor little 101 List.

I haven't forgotten it. I just haven't been inspired to do much on it this summer.

That's terrible. A whole season has passed, and I've basically accomplished nothing. All of those summer days when I could have been planning a trip to TO, or being a tourist in Ottawa, or for God's sake at least carving my name in a damned tree!!

But nope. Nothing. Nothing but books and movies. I do believe this is a sign that my life is in a bit of a rut. A book and movie RUT, I tell you.

The good news is that I finished #19 - Read 10 Books in One Year. (In August. Ooooooo, atta challenge yourself, Jill.)

The bad news is that this blog will probably be even more neglected than it already is now that I won't have any book reviews to write. eeeep.

The book that checked in at #10 was Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat Pray Love.

I was reading it for my book club, and as it turns out, I was one of the few who actually really enjoyed it. The funny thing is that I purchased the book from Amazon a long time ago, and when it arrived, I was surprised at how BIG the book was. Huge. MASSIVE. I was intimidated by it. I told everyone I knew would be reading it for book club to get it early, because it was going to take a looooong time to read it.

Turns out, once I finally flipped it open to get started on it, I discovered I had accidentally purchased the LARGE PRINT EDITION. So yes, it was big, huge, MASSIVE - but there were, like, 10 words on a page. I giggled to myself as I thought of the few people I talked to who had already read it that probably wondered why I was complaining about how long I thought the book would be. I imagine they were thinking, And this girl says she's a reader? And she's scared of the size of Eat Pray Love? What does she read, RL Stine books?

In fact, I loved the way Eat Pray Love was broken down, into 109 small chapters that, for me, just flew by. That's the nice part about a LARGE PRINT EDITION book. You can whiz through those millions of pages very quickly. And I felt a connection to Gilbert's first-person account of her real-life adventures. No, I don't think I could ever just drop everything and leave for a whole year, but I envied her ability to do so. I think it would be something I could really enjoy, if I had the balls to actually do it.

The book is broken into three parts, based on the three places she traveled to: Italy, where she ate; India, where she prayed; and Indonesia, where she finally found the ability to love again. It was her own spiritual journey, her effort to mend her broken life, and I admired her for it. I loved reading about all the people she met, the little situations she found herself in during the year-long adventure. A few people I talked to felt they struggled, especially through the section on India, but I was fascinated by her experience at the Ashram, and felt intrigued by the idea of meditation and Yoga. I'm interested in trying both.

So yes, I really did love Eat Pray Love, even though several people at our book club disliked it and didn't even finish reading it. I was glad I read it, and it has stuck with me since then.

There you have it. The very last book review. I'm sure you're all sick of me talking about books by now.

So let's move on to movies. I hardly ever talk about them. (ha!)

I got two more letters checked off for #30 - Watch 26 movies I've never seen before starting with each letter of the alphabet.

First, I watched my "T" movie in August, and it was one I'd been wanting to see for a while: The Town, starring Ben Affleck.

So.good. Suspenseful, thrilling a little scary, and....well...Ben Affleck is in it. And I love Ben Affleck.

It tells the story of a group of friends from a neighbourhood in Boston called Charlestown who grow up to be robbers, but in the midst of a bank heist, Affleck's character, Doug, takes a liking for their hostage, Claire, and begins a relationship with her shortly after. She has no idea that her new boyfriend is one of the masked men who caused her so much terror.

I also got the "M" movie checked off when I saw Morning Glory, which features such a fun cast, including Rachel McAdams, Diane Keaton, and Harrison Ford.

I didn't have high expectations for this movie - in fact, I thought the previews for it looked kinda boring - but I really enjoyed it. McAdams plays Becky, an upstart workaholic TV producer who gets her big break by getting the chance to right the failing morning show "Daybreak". Her biggest challenge is convincing legendary newscaster Mike Pomeroy (Ford) to join Collen Peck (delightfully played by Keaton) as co-host of the program. The story follows the rise to success of Becky's show and her handling of its temperamental stars, while she also tries to juggle a new relationship with her hottie colleague, Adam (played by Patrick Wilson).

I really recommend both of these movies - both are worth it!!

So I know I've said this before, but I'm really going to try to get more knocked off the list in the coming weeks. Otherwise, there's no way I'll ever get most of it accomplished by the end of the 1001 days!!

The Saturdays Unveil New Single

And its a power ballad! That's right folks, The Saturdays have delivered pop anthem 'Notorious' laced with dubstep influences and infectious dance hit 'All Fired Up' as their first two singles from their upcoming fourth album but now its the era of the ballad for the third offering entitled 'My Heart Takes Over'.

Of course Una, Vanessa, Rochelle, Mollie and Frankie are no strangers to the heart pulling love songs serving up previous smash hits with the likes of 'Issues' and 'Missing You', The Sats know how to give a good power ballad when the opportunity presents itself.

That opportunity is now. Regardless of what rumours are floating around about an alleged Saturdays two year break following Una Healy's recently announced pregnancy with rugby ace Ben Foden. The Sats took to twitter to dispel such rumours claiming their diaries are fully booked for the next full year at least.

Don't worry girls we believe you! Tell it to the haters! More importantly promote this track as its brilliant. Its intense, has the vocals and production to back it up and features a rather epic shout out from Vanessa that almost made me lose my balance. Girl's got a set on her!

The girls' new track 'My Heart Takes Over' debuted this morning at 8.15am getting its first radio airplay via Chris Moyles on BBC Radio 1. Team Sats are set to shoot the accompanying video for their new single tomorrow in Iceland. The song gets its official release November 13.

If you missed Moyles' show take a listen to the emotional track from The Saturdays in its entirety below.

Studio Cam: New Tinkerings

Hello Sweetie Pies! The HerSpeak studio has been hoppin': scattered with gold leaf, felt scraps and paint squishing about! Here's a peep at what's been shakin' this week:

New mini shrine: 3" wide. Gold leaf, sequins, found images, nails, candles, glitter, plastic beads, wood pieces and silk flowers. The best part about these projects is I buy nothing: every shrine is recycled or found materials. Fiddling around and figuring out the best way to pair objects together is half the fun of making!

A Dia de Los Muertos fabric vignette underway--still have to stich on the mustache! He should be a sharp looking skelly when he's all sewed up. The frame is, if possible, more ridiculous than the skeleton. Can't wait to show you the finished piece!

And finally, the beginnings of a new painting! This is the second in my new latest series. I need to finish two more and they'll have homes in a Salon here in Milwaukee. More inprogress peeks to come! (30"x40", acrylic, watercolor and sequins on canvas.)

What is the state of your studios these days, darlings?

Orange Chicken

I hope you are hungry, because today we have something delicious for dinner!!

It's orange chicken!!

I LOVE the orange chicken at panda express, so when I found the Panda Express orange sauce at my grocery store I was thrilled! (you can also get it at amazon by the case)

Here is how I made the chicken, you need:

-2 chicken breasts
-1 cup flour
-salt and pepper
vegetable oil for frying

Ok, it is really simple. Cut up your chicken into bite size pieces

In a large (gallon size) zip lock bag combine flour, salt and pepper (to your taste) then throw in the cut up chicken, close the bag and give it all a good shake to coat the chicken.

Heat about 4 TB of vegetable oil in a large frying pan

Once you have coated all the chicken and the pan is hot, carefully place the chicken pieces into the pan and saute until slightly golden

Then add half a can of the orange sauce into the pan and mix together. Turn the burner onto low heat and simmer the chicken in the sauce for about 5 minutes

Then serve on some fried rice and steamed veggies and you have got yourself a yummy meal!
