Dirty Sexy Things. Various 'things' spring to mind when these three words are combined, a reality show revolving around a backstage pass to the world modeling is not one of them but that's exactly what E4's new 'reality' tv show is boasting, replacing hit Made In Chelsea which is on hiatus until filming for season 2 begins.
So what's the verdict on the Channel 4 Spin-off's choice? Dribble. Stupid. Tripe.
For a show that should be jam packed with comedic value its just full of prats. One memorable quote that deserves a mention comes from sexually adventurous self-conscious bisexual Jay who states in the first episode "I'm not eating carbs...its Fashion Week."
Now a sexually adventurous self-conscious bisexual sounds like tv gold. Nope, guess again. To quote Rick Edwards, nope he is just a tool.
Other notable idiots are European traveled stunner Ariella who refuses to strip because she demands respect. Story of my life girl. Baby of the group Jesse, who looks like a younger R-Patz minus the twi-hard stalking stress, comes across as equally obnoxious and the rest are just a bit too dull to bother mentioning.
Apart from BB of course. Man looks like a complete Spartan and he is a professionally trained dancer who works with the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna and Alexandra Burke. Again, story of my life mate. I wish!
As for the episode itself, the premiere failed to set the stage for a future hit. It felt overly introductory with very little drama or personality as Fashion Photographer extraordinaire Perou embarks upon his world changing mission to film life behind the lens.
Maybe he should focus on the real stuff then? Eating disorders, drug habits, wild sex parties (that many good looking people in one room...who isn't going to get at it in the corner?). Alas a boy can dream.
Dirty Sexy Things is scheduled to run for 8 episodes over the next 8 weeks airing Monday nights at 10pm on E4. For more information on the show and the models check out their website http://www.e4.com/dirtysexythings/
