Amy Wineshouse Passes Away

The music industry was dealt a hard and equally crushing blow yesterday afternoon when it became public knowledge that the phenomenally blessed British singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse was found dead at her North West London flat.

The Back To Black be-hive trend setter, who was set to turn 28 in September, struggled with a drug and alcohol addiction along side a slightly unhealthy relationship with husband and fellow drug user Blake Fielder-Civil whom she divorced in July of 2009.

Following several stints in rehab (no pun intended no no no) the Brit Award and five time Grammy Winner looked to be on the road to recovery working and recording for her upcoming third album. Until fans saw the troubled star stumble through an embarrassing drunken set in which Winehouse forgot words, stumbled on stage and threw objects to a rather unimpressed crowd resulting in the cancellation of her 12-leg European tour.

Amy's family released a statement earlier today with her label Universal Records saying "We are deeply saddened at the sudden loss of such a gifted musician, artist and performer."

Amy Winehouse had major hit singles Rehab, Back To Black, I'm No Good,Valerie, Tears Dry On Their Own and Love Is A Losing Game, nominated six times at the Grammys, walking away with five awards as well as a Brit Award for Best Album. Amy will surely be missed.
