E4 have been uping their game of late in relation to new shows what with Dirty Sexy Things and legal comedy drama Franklin and Bash making the rounds, but perhaps their best bet is Beaver Falls.
Premiering yesterday evening, two Brits and a Scot lad (Adam Barlow from Coronation Street fame) venture to an American Summer Camp for most reasons people head to American summer camps...girls and alcohol with the promise of good weather thrown in as an added extra. Basically the Imbetweeners minus the smart geeky one go for a sunny break.
The show itself combines Brit humour with American comedy as our three lads, Flynn (the hot one), A-Rab (inappropriately nicknamed with an awkward sleeping disorder) and Barry (he smokes dope) find themselves lumbered with five overweight misfits meanwhile the rest of their fellow camp leaders are given the future doctors, lawyers and political leaders to nurture and begin their longterm substance abuse filled lives.
Beaver Falls is what can only be described as Role Models meets American Pie with a touch of the English as the gross-out comedy stylings, increasingly embarrassing scenarios, spontaneous swearing and sure to get the tongues wagging sex scenes drag in the targeted youth orientated audience.
Yes its predictable and dumb as hell...but its British teens go to an American Summer Camp...what's not to love?
Beaver Falls opened with ratings of 370k airing Wednesday nights at 9pm with a repeat showing at 11.05pm on E4 and is available to watch on 4OD now.
Check out Flynn, A-Rab and Barry and the hilarious schenanigans in the trailer below.
