Gorgeous Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts is gearing up for her first stint as a solo artist previewing two very distinct tracks from the upcoming project giving a little taste of what to expect in the coming months.
The first track is debut single 'Beat of My Drum' produced by Diplo featuring drum beats mixed with snythesised electronic influences similar to Beyonce's also Diplo produced track 'Run the World'. Roberts vocals on the track give it that less urban edge bringing a brighter pop sound Girls Aloud are often known and recognised for shouting "L.O.V.E Dance to the beat of my drum!".
One fan on Youtube hit the nail on the head or should that be drum? "Its quirky and fun. I like it."Whilst another posted, "The Ginger Queen is coming! Watch out Cheryl." Watch out indeed if the second track previewed is anything to go by.
Entitled 'Porcelain Heart', the song acts as Nicola's B-side to her first single and is in stark contrast to the first single featuring more edgy yet mellowed vocals sounding every bit the star singer she is. Its very Florence and The Machinesque with a hint of Goldfapp mixed in for good measure. A very good choice to accompany BOMD showing the music scene two various sides of Nicola Roberts.
One fan commented on the electro ballad, "this song should be a single. It's beautiful, and you can tell she put her soul into this song. It's soo gorgeous!" Another claimed, "Way better than Beat of My Drum!"
Nicola's debut album 'Cinderella's Eyes' drops Autumn 2011. First single 'Beat of My Drum' is released June 5.
