Jason Derulo, often referred to as the new Chris Brown minus the domestic violence era, has come a long way since embarking on his first chart wave with Number One debut single 'Whatcha Say' which sampled Imogen Heap's 'Hide and Seek'. Two further UK No. 1's, two other international chart topping singles, a successful album and a few promo tours later, JD is back with another sample under his belt and a former Pussycat Doll on his arm.
The video for new track 'Don't Wanna Go Home', the first track to be lifted of JD's sophomore effort 'Future History', dropped earlier today featuring the background track from 2009 club smash 'Show Me Love' by Robin S and a certain stunning Melody Thornton of the now defunct Pussycat Dolls. Melody plays the role of Derulo's lead girl in the vid putting those Pussycat moves to the test alongside Derulo, cooking up quite a storm as she does so.
One fan wrote on pcdworld.co.uk's forum commenting, "Melody was so hot!! Her dancing skills have improved a lot I must say!!! Nice to see her again in a music video!"
The video has everything a Jason Derulo clip would expect. Dance breaks, strobe lighting...oh and a lot of water. Apparently if you dance in an abandoned warehouse for a certain length of time the sprinkler system is automatically switched on. Who knew? It also has the trademark "Jason Derulo!" shout out at the start...everyone must know his name by now right?
Derulo described the nature of the video in a recent interview with Rap-Up.com stating, ""It's a high energy dance video, more dancing than anybody's ever seen me do thus far, yet very sexy."
Jason Derulo recently appeared is Cosmo's Centrefold for their June Issue. Melody is currently in London starring in ITV's reality show Popstar to Operastar. JD's new album 'Future Sounds' is schedule for September release. 'Don't Wanna Go Home' is out now.
Check out the pair getting hot and steamy in Derulo's 'Don't Wanna Go Home' video below as well as a bonus behind the scenes clip.
