American comedy show, 'New Girl' is set to land in the UK over on Channel 4 this week starring Zooey Deschanel as Jessica 'Jess' Day. A quirky, eccentric and a little bit clueless late 20s girl down on her luck following a recent discovery of her now former boyfriend's infidelity. Enter Nick (Jake Johnson), Coach(Damon Wayans Jnr) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield). Three guys who take Jess under their wing as their new roommate hoping to bring a little spring back into her depressing Dirty Dancing marathon inducing step.
Sadly the character of Coach is scrapped after the first episode (probably due to his amazing work in rival show Happy Endings) to make way for the return of Nick and Schmidt's original roommate Winston (Lamorne Morris). The show also stars Hannah Simone as Jess' model friend Cece.
New Girl's pilot features several hilarious scenes including the opening break-up sequence featuring a naked Deschanel and Jess' love of creating her own theme tunes. One in particular is adopted for the main title credits. It's no Big Bang Theory or Happy Endings but New Girl is definitely one to watch. Simply 'adorkable'. Fans of the Deschanel clan will be pleased.

Created by Elizabeth Meriwether, New Girl is a sure fire hit with Fox ordering a full 24 episode run for the first season after only the pilot and the second episode had aired. New Girl is also nominated for two Golden Globes for Best Television Show and Best Actress in a Television Series.
