Men's Jewellery: Must Have Accessory or Just Not Meant to Be?

Broaches. Necklaces. Neckchains. Rings. Bangles. Cuffs. All names frequently used when describing jewellery...men's jewellery. That's right its not just the woman who can front their 14 carrot gold items any more. Men are getting in on the action and quite rightly so with the modern and creative pieces currently available on the highstreet from the likes of Topman, River Island and Asos.

More importantly it takes an outfit from highstreet to high-end in an instant. The key is to keep it simple and minimal at all times. Do not mix and match. Keeping it on the metallic front is the best option right now allowing you to take the metallic trend and not end up looking like a walking tinman. (Coughs Zara Man's Silver Blazer).

My personal favs right now are Animal pieces. I recently purchased a Gold Lion's Head broach from Topman, had it sown onto a plain black blazer. I also pair several button down collared shirts in a variety of colors with a gold Stag necklace from H&M (3.99) and a black speckled Frog neckchain from Asos. Works a treat.

For the bangles and cuffs go a little more drastic with edgy and bold designs like these Topman Cage bangle(£15), the 3D Eagle Cuff (£12)

For rings keep it vintage with emblems, crests and oversized stones. Failing that take the Animal approach once again with stunning gold and white Wolf heads or a Gold dino ring complete with Ruby eyes from Topman. Navajo alternates are available from River Island in a Silver Variant (£6). If you are really extravagant this Vivienne Westwood designed knuckle duster priced £193 would do the trick.
