The Brit Award nominations for 2012's upcoming ceremony was held at the Savoy Hotel in London on January 12. Thank god they are being recognised for their musicality as when it comes to the fashion choices worn by those in attendance its clear they need a little bit of help on the image front.
Jessie J, normally one for outrageous and bold garments tends to impress, but on this occasion the singer dressed down her usual edgy style opting for a mesh patterned gown with rips along the base. Toning down her make-up with a slightly more natural look and adding a few hair extensions took her innovative fashion to an extremely dull level. Other nominees Ed Sheeran and Professor Green turned up to the event in their everyday slacks. Come on guys put a bit of effort into it. A suit or even a shirt wouldn't go a miss.
Thankfully it wasn't all bad. This year's Critic's Choice winner Emile Sandi did not fail to impress rocking a knee length black and gold patterned sixties dress looking a million dollars as she did so. Also taking inspiration from the 60s was God child of the late Amy Winehouse, Dionne Bromfield looking stunning in a nude short number complete with baby blue symmetric panels. Silver hoops and a silver heart necklace were the perfect fit to add that chic touch.
X-Factor's JLS also surprised (usually looking like extras from Geordie Shore) with a nautical theme sporting blue blazers with trim lapels and color appropriate chinos. Member Oriste stands out with his madellion embellished navy blazer with nude pink chinos and a plain white t-shirt keeping it minimalistic but fashion forward at the same time.
