Hello Sunflowers!* The Moon is full and she is looking glorious in her muggy summer dress! I so look forward to this time when we get to share our intentions, struggles, victories and wishes. Personally, this past cycle was tough: I was stuck. There was work to be done and major decisions to be made but it was like dragging a drunk elephant up a busy street. You know the feeling?

Long story simplified short version: Of all the projects I am passionate about and juggling--it felt like no one was on the bandwagon. Everyone talked a lot of excited talk about wanting to participate or exchanged promises and when it came time to walk the walk--they bailed.

I panicked. I can't do this, I'm fucked. It's too big. I need moral support!

And then another thought creeped in: Is it that you can't do it or that you're afraid to do it alone?

I know the answer.

It's show time, Tiger Heart.

Hello Chickadees!* I stood at the window in the morning, holding my coffee and looking at the orange light bouncing off the bank buildings and towers of downtown. A quiet thought drifted in:

"I'm going to conquer it.
All of it."

I liked the thought so much, I decided to hold onto it for the rest of the day.

Now to WishCasting! This week Jamie asks us, What do you wish to read? I must confess that one of the fantasies I stow away to often is a musty library study with spiral staircases and towering shelves of leathery tomes that all smell like old-book-smell. What do I wish to read? Anything that will make me harder, faster, stronger, smarter, prettier and taller--and every Dada poem ever penned.

In the near future, I wish to read this little treasure I picked up on a whim because of the funky cover: Fancy Beasts, a collection of poems by Alex Lemon. I began reading it this morning and was thoroughly DElighted by its weirdness: Very Juicy. Very Mucky and full of sexy ghosts and haunted mustaches. I highly recommend it.

Hello Cupcakes!*

I'm taking off for a psychobilly show in Chicago this weekend with my brother and sis! But before I take off to make mayhem in the windy city, here are a few peeks at the latest studio Tinkerings:



I've been keeping a goddess inspired art journal for a course and this week's entry is based on the electric and beautiful bard-like lyrics of Bob Dylan's Shelter From The Storm. (Ask anyone around me--I'm on a Dylan kick this week.) I've been puttering a lot with tracing paper and masking tape:

I am supposed to be creating a visual diary of my daily doings for my illustration course: making a drawing about conversations we have, places we go, things we notice. Randomocity: Studio + Sweet Sites

Hello, Snapdragons!*

It has been a busy string of days at apartment #5: artmaking, class going, work working and of course, chaos in the best ways possible. Thusly, this post will be a bit ragtag and short on theme. SO without further ado, bring on the randomocity!



I've been glued to the computer during the evenings working on pieces for my illustration class. And truth be told--I'm struggling! I am a painter, not a mouse clicker. The whole approach feels foreign and clunky to me, but I'm practicing! Here are a few peeks of my early attempts at digital work:





Aaaah ((contented sigh.)) A clean studio, is a happy studio. (If you can call a closet a studio. And I am.) No longer are you a pit for school clutter and paper rubbish, my sweet.



In other artsy fartsy news, if you haven't already checked it out I would highly recommend stopping at this blog for a cup of tea and visual respite. My dear friend and exquisite Chicago photographer, Julie Lynn Ivens has a beautiful collection of works inspired by nature, wild women and other blissings. Plus, she's a total cupcake. Go visit. Really. You're gonna love her.



Whilst I'm plugging, I would also recommend this freakin' juicy gorgeous meditation by Goddess Leonie. I just started it this week and I can't shut up about it. The meditation is elegantly paced and beautifully performed by our favorite Aussie Goddess. Heck--this amazing woman could sing-read me a grocery list and I'd feel euphoric.



I discovered an excellent book snooping about at the library last week wondering where the heck they moved the Conjure and HooDoo selections, Special Topics In Tarot: Tarot & Dream Interpretation by Julie Gillentine. Though I am a total novice to tarot and this book is geared toward more advanced interpreting techniques, I am loving it! Great layout, clear writing, interesting ideas and most importantly it's helping me further familiarize myself with my deck and suggests great, simple ways to integrate tarot into your daily routine. Hooray Books!



Now, I'm off for the weekend to visit my parental units, eat all their food and plug away on a painting assignment. I'm looking forward to a few days of low key lazing about and re-juicing. Wishing all of you a refreshing, rejuvenating weekend!

This week I decided to jump on board with the Trinket Queen Jennlui and participate in Mantra Monday. (Go take a peek--Anyone can play!) I can't think of a better way to start the week than with a new moon and a meditative moment quickly concocting a magickal message. I wanted to create a card that encompassed my spiritual and professional goal for the year ahead.
