Swizzle Fashion Show Sneak Peeks!

Hello Cherrubs! I apologize for the light posting week--I'm in the final days of putting together an exhibition and fashion show: Kitschmas! I've been buzzing between studios, rehearsals and shopping trips that are more like a scavanger hunts. (Never imagined half a dozen pairs of seamed stockings would be so difficult to score!)

Here are a few sneaky peeps of the fashion show my mum and I are working on! "Swizzle: A vintage cocktail inspired runway showcase"!

The event poster, designed by my lovely and talented friend Kelly.

Custom bubble jewelry!

This is exactly what it looks like--making giant limes. :}

A peep at the beginnings of the "Dirty Martini"

Fat Mew, skulking around the studio.

Vintage pumps and berry colored brocade!

Stuffed strawberry soon to adorn a pink sorbet muff!

I can't wait to post pictures of the show--Wish us luck!

Full Moon Dream Board: Resources

Merry Full Moon, My Pretties!*
Holy moly this cycle went past in a FLASH! It's that time to peer out the windows and make our full Moon wishes! This month my dream board addresses my need for FoCuS! I'm cooking up some big projects, particularly the planning of a Halloween themed gallery and performance event--"Massacreade: The Curious. The Marvelous. The Macabre" on which I am collaborating on with all sorts of fabulous folk. It's a dream project: vampire fashion, spooky art exhibition, The Famous Graves performing with special guests...essentially throwing a publicized evening of mayhem with every wickedly cool and talented person I know. The school year also started PeTal tO tHe MeTaL on wednesday and I'm up to my unkempt eyebrows in books, studio supply lists and project deadlines.

On This Full Moon I Wish For
success in my projects--
a splendid tidal-wave-turn out and a flow beauteous artworks!
The Focus to get the job done right the first time!
The Resources to pull it all off and make it look breezy!
And joy to make the experience pleasant,
worthwhile, and memorable for all involved!

Here's to a New rabbit hole!
What will you wish for, my dears?
Wish Wild! Wish Boldly!

Until Next time--
Many Blissings and Merry Making~*

Gallery Night + New Goddess

Hello Puddings!*

Oh- so- much has been happening here at apartment #5! Here's the whirlwind tour: I've been bzzzz-buzzing around town here and there in preperation for the "Glamorous Gallery Night" event I was asked to style. It's been quite the coaster ride between venue changes, committee shifts and indecisive entertainers-- but with only 20 days to go things are looking very glamorous indeed! My partner and I have been up to our eyebrows in iridescent tulle, collapsable chandeliers, miles and miles of To Do lists and frantic inbox exchanges in an effort to throw Milwaukee one hell of a party! Here's the promo clip for the event!

The Famous Graves have also been kicked into high gear, rehearsing Billie Holliday tunes in my sweltering apartment. Things are coming together! Exciting, exciting indeed...
I've been smudging and smooshing charcoal about the studio while working on a life size self portrait-ish. I've always wanted to to a Nyx piece, I think that's the direction this work is headed. Lots of work to go yet, but fun to get grimy again...I also have plans...BIG plans for this canvas! Can't wait to show you as it progresses.

*In other News...
In the very near future, HerSpeak will be the home of Creative Gravy Meditations! Hooray! I've been tinkering with a few guided video meditations designed to get your creative juices flowing--because as you know, at HerSpeak, we're all about the juice. :)

Speaking of which, what are you doing
for your juices these days? Do tell!

Until Next Time--
Much Joy and Merry Making!

Wishcasting: What Treat Do You Wish For?

Hello Dumplings! *
It’s Wishcasting Wednesday and this week our Wishtress Jamie tempts us with the question:

What frivolous treat do you wish for?

Delightful.
Indulgent.

I love it.
However, upon further examination my wish is more a fulfillment of fantasy than frivolous whim—a quenching if you will. I wish for an opportunity, just one chance, one amazing night for my jazz combo, The Famous Graves to step out and show the city what kind of guts and rhinestones we’re made of! One night with all the trimmings; the blue light, the crimson carpet, the chrome microphone, the satin gown that makes Julie London jealous and an audience that understands—craves—what’s being shown to them.

--A night that makes the crowd pine for a more glamorous moment in time where Torch song was Queen, clean shaven men spoke in cigar smoke and the red lipped ladies smoothed out their gloves while snorting diamonds.

A night dripping with decadence.

I wish for The Famous Graves to get the Chance we need.

I’ve got my fingers busy working on arranging such an evening for Milwaukee’s Fall Gallery Night with the help of other local artists, music lovers, fashion designers, movers and resident shakers! I'm going to be pouring all the energy, magic, resources and juices I've got into this one--Wish me luck, my pretties!
Now, what sort of delicacy do you wish for yourself?
Wish Lavishly, darlings! May all of your musings manifest!
