Five Reasons Why MTV's EMAs Rocked Belfast

Last night saw the best thing to happen to Northern Ireland since Zoe Salmon left for London. The MTV EMAs hit the city in the Odyssey Arena Belfast and as a result the entire province was buzzing with energy, life, style, celebrity guests and of course the music.

Here's five reasons why the EMAs took Belfast by storm.

One: The live gigs with the likes of Jason Derulo and our very own Snow Patrol taking to the centre stage at Belfast's City Hall as a crowd of 15,000 amassed to listen in as the first taste of the musical extravaganza kicked into action around 6.30pm. Elsewhere in the Ulster Hall, the Red Hot Chili Peppers gave 1,000 privileged fans a night they won't be forgetting in a hurry.

Two: Jessie J, who performed earlier this year in Belfast's favourite intimate venue Mandella Hall returned to the city, on top form as she performed her UK number one 'Price Tag', wearing some pretty glam frocks, delivered a touching Amy Whinehouse tribute clip and covered David Guetta and Usher's new single 'Without You' alongisde D-Guetta himself.

Three: Lady Gaga and her crazy hat disc thing. Everytime we glimpsed the Just Dance entertainer a shot of pure euphoria jumped through my entire body (it could have been the wine) for the chance to gaze at her outrageous head gear that little bit more.

Four: Hayden of heroes fame and streaker David Monaghan. It may have been staged, but it made for some hilarious viewing. Especially every word that came out of the young Irish actor's mouth. Then there was Hayden's reactions. Priceless. Naked in a hopeless place.

Five: And finally we have Selena Gomez who needs to ditch Bieber and get herself a real man and after hosting last night's awards, performing and walking around in a variety of sensational designer looks, the singer/actress is now a fully fledged goddess in my eyes. Girl is absolutely stunning.

A bonus reason has to be Adam Lambert and the remaining members of Queen performing a medley of tracks including We Are The Champions. Lady Gaga walked away with four awards for Best Video, Best Song, Best Fans and Best Female.

Take a look at her Marry The Night performance above a moon like structure below from last night's EMA show at the Odyssey Arena Belfast.
