The British Fashion Awards 2011

Held at London's Savoy Theatre last night, the British Fashion Awards 2011 saw the best the UK has to offer in style as Britain's top designers, fashionistas and a certain Spice Girl turned up for the high profile event.

Victoria Beckham walked away with the Best Designer Brand award beating the likes of Burberry, Tom Ford and Stella McCartney to the punch but not to worry, Stella McCartney did win the Red Carpet gong. Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen took home the prestigious Best Designer of Year award. Alexa Chung won the publicly voted British Style Award for a second year in a row. The Outstanding Achievement In Fashion award went to Paul Smith.

As for what they wore...well it seems the best dressed awards go to those not honored at the event but to those stylish guests who simply had an invite. Brit actress/model Kelly Brook looked as stunning as ever in a one shouldered, all white gown complete with a knee high split. Paired with a slimline gold belt, and gold sequined shoes Kelly looked like the very embodiment of a Greek Goddess.

Whilst PM's wife Samantha Cameron kept it classic with a vintage velvet black number looking very 1960s Hollywood with the long sleeves, red shoes and oversized jeweled necklace. Nice work Sam-Cam.

Other noteworthy looks came from reality TV star Olivia Palermo wearing a feathered glam frock courtesy of Matthew Williamson, Poppy Delevigne's sensational gold printed full length dress and Tali Lennox's bang on trend look in a metallic gown.

Winners Sarah Burton looked frightening in her witch-like gown as Stella McCartney dressed like a man in a tweed-like suit. Kate Moss also opted for a more gothic twist with a black netted dress. Thankfully Victoria Beckham kept it simple in a black silk evening gown whilst Alexa Chung showed she was deserving of her Style Award in a Christopher Kane white dress with a jewel encrusted silver finish, complete with black peep toe shoes by Charlotte Olympia.

The event was hosted by George Lamb and Lauren Laverne.
