Olly Murs Joins The X-tra Factor

In the wake of news surrounding announcements of the X-factor judging panels both Stateside and here in the UK, it has been revealed that 2009's X-factor runner-up Olly Murs will host the show's spin-off X-tra Factor when it returns to ITV2 this Summer.

MTV reported Olly as being happy and gracious to have received the role stating "The X Factor is the show that put me where I am so I'm chuffed to be involved again - this time to work on it from the other side and see some new stars coming through."

Its safe to say that Essex chap Olly is a fan favourite with regards to the British public. His debut single went straight in at Number One with three successful follow ups and a Number Two album under his belt, Olly has followed the trend set by JLS that winning isn't everything.

Filming for both shows kicked off today, Olly tweeted a picture on his twitter account earlier under the tagging "It's official!!! The Xtra Factor filming has started!" looking every bit the fashionable lad he is alongside co-host Caroline Flack.

Olly recently released the 'Busy' EP featuring fourth single 'Busy', new feel-good track 'Takes A Lot' and the pleasant on the ears acoustic rendition of his 2010 hit 'Please Don't Let Me Go'. The bundle is available to download now on Itunes.

Take a look at Olly's first X-factor audition from 2009's archives below.
