I believe this to be a yellow-rumped warbler.

Leaves - I Count Them As Joy

Man is fond of counting his troubles, but he does not count his joys. If he counted them up as he ought to, he would see that every lot has enough happiness provided for it.

Nature's Glow

In Nature's Glow ~ My Soul Delights
About the image: Taken October 09, 2011 - Deerfield Trail - Blacksburg, VA
Shooting into the light is a no-no - but I love the way leaves look when they are backlit. I also love finding hearts in nature - and the very bottom one looks like a heart to me :)

Outside My Window

Our senses are indeed our doors and windows on this world, in a very real sense the key to the unlocking of meaning and the wellspring of creativity.
~ Jean Houston
About this image: Taken standing in my living room through the window. I thought the birdie blended in well with the leaves. Not sure what the ID is on this bird - If you know, please leave me a comment. It was raining again - hence the little specs in the shot :)

Carolina Wren in the Autumn Forest

Forests, lakes, and rivers, clouds and winds, stars and flowers, stupendous glaciers and crystal snowflakes - every form of animate or inanimate existence, leaves its impress upon the soul of man.
~ Orison Swett Marden
I always hear these little wrens before I see them. They have such a beautiful voice.

Obsessed with Leaves

I am a bit obsessed with leaves at this time of year. I was going through some archived pics (which is one of my fave things to do) and I found this one (from 2008).

The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction. ~Rachel Carson
Wishing you a wonderful day!

Change

These leaves are from the bush off of my back deck. I am not sure what type of bush this is but it has lovely green leaves during the summer and then they turn RED.

Autumn's Pallet

How beautifully the leaves grow old. How full of light and colour are their last days.

Time Flies By

There are lots more leaves on the ground these days than hanging on the branches. It’s actually starting to feel more like Winter than Fall. We had morning temps of 21 over the weekend. Brrrrr …. that is chilly for this time of year.
Gather ye rose-buds while ye may, Old time is still a-flying. And this same flower that smiles today, Tomorrow will be dying.

JINGLING

I've been a fan of the Cheryl Harris for many years and always admired her colorful millefiori leaves. Here are a few examples of her breath-taking canes in a seasonal contest.

You can find these festive little bells in Cheryl's shop, cherylsart.etsy.com.
