Butterfly Close-up for Macro Monday

Look closely and you will find that people are happy because they are grateful. The opposite of gratefulness is just taking everything for granted.

Reflections in a Droplet

If you care about what you do and work hard at it, there isn't anything you can't do if you want to.
― Jim Henson
Do you find that you put limitations on yourself? I struggle with that on a daily basis - so when I saw this quote it really spoke to me!

Dandelion Droplets With an Olloclip - Macro Monday

Above straight out of the camera (iPhone) - no editing

Straight Out of the Camera but cropped closer.
Early last week I stumbled across some amazing MACRO shots on Instagram and was AMAZED at how fabulous they looked. I soon found out that most were using a lens designed specifically for the iPhone called the Olloclip. They are sold at Best Buy and even on the Apple website but were back ordered. That told me that this was something to check out! I went direct to the Olloclip webiste. Ordered it on January 3, it shipped January 4, and I had it on January 6. Pretty quick service! The above shots were taken with my iPhone with the Olloclip. If you love taking pics with your iPhone and love Macro, I encourage you to check out their website HERE. The lens is actually a wide angle, fisheye, and macro all in one!
Olloclip did NOT ask me to write this review - I just wanted to let you know what a great product it is!

PS - not sure what the little creature is in the pics - maybe an aphid? It was TINY - I couldn't even see it when I was taking the shots.

Hover Fly Macro

Let your mind start a journey thru a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be…Close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar, and you’ll live as you’ve never lived before.

And friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home sweet home
For there the heart can rest.

Wispy Dandelion - Macro Monday

What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
About the Image: Dandelion Pappus - 12-03-11 Izaak Walton Park - Christiansburg, VA
I didn't know what the little "wispy" part of the dandelion was called. I looked it up and Wikipedia tells me that it is called a Pappus (Pappi would be the plural).
"feathery bristles of the pappus function as a "parachute" which enables the seed to be carried by the wind" I LOVE learning new things!

This is a Lifer Bug for me - the first one I've even seen. I find him quite unique - and - beautiful in his own special way. He was crawling in the Goldenrod and blends in quite well.
