H&M Premiere Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Collection

If you like all things grunge, gothic and edgy then H&M's new Girl With The Dragon Tattoo collection is the one for you.

Inspired by David Fincher's upcoming English remake, the collection is designed by the new film's costume expert Trish Summerville the...pieces take direct inspiration from central character and all round feminist role model Lisabeth Salander. As a result, H&M has been accused of glamorising rape by one online blogger/journalist. Here's the bottom line. H&M are celebrating a Swedish cultural phenomenon that is Stieg Larsson's Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. No more. No less.

The novel's achievements deserve to be recognised and honored in what ever shape or form presents itself. Not to mention the inspiration the character of Lisabeth represents to women. Summerville stated in H&M's press release "Salander’s look is very real and very lived in, with pieces that her character has worn for a long time, like her jackets that act as her armour to shield her from the world. I wanted the collection to have the essence and strength of Salander, with a fashion edge".

H&M's Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Collection debuted last week at Collette, a fashion phenomenon Paris Boutique. The 30 piece collection hits selected stores today. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara hits the big screen Boxing Day.The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo premiered in Sweden last night.
