***It's Wishcasting Wednesday, kids!*** Our Wish Wrangler Jamie, asks us to ponder what sort of creative wishes we have. In the last week I've been writing away, tweaking and revising my Creative Gravy workshop and last night I spent a majority of my time writing on why I think the act of Making Stuff is so important:
"I find it particularly important for women as a community to create both on a personal and public level. For generations women have been socialized to compete and conquer as opposed to commune and construct. Our ability to express ourselves as both a whole person and as a productive member of a community allows us to branch out, build bridges, create business networks, seek out support and finally if not most importantly, feed the soul with a sense of consequence, accomplishment and balance. When we are stronger as a link, we improve the overall strength of the chain. Inviting creative practices into our lives not only allows us to produce beautiful physical objects, (in some cases this is merely a pleasant side affect) but can serve as a much needed emotional outlet, provide mental harmony and reaffirm personal purpose...
So--my wish this week is whether you are a potter, scrap booker, Seamstress, cook, florist, painter, jeweler, crafter, doodler, poet, blogger, photographer, dancer, singer, actress, novelist, SCULPTOR, amateur, professional or free spirit that you create unapologetically and that in doing so you find Peace and Purpose.
*~Merry Making, Friends!~*
