Friday Feathers ~ Just Ducky

Build this day on a foundation of pleasant thoughts. Never fret at any imperfections that you fear may impede your progress. Remind yourself, as often as necessary, that you are a creature of God and have the power to achieve any dream by lifting up your thoughts. You can fly when you decide that you can. Never consider yourself defeated again. Let the vision in your heart be in your life's blueprint. Smile!

I have no idea what kind of duck this is. ID help is appreciated!

Taking a Deep Breath

Smile, breathe and go slowly. ~Thich Nhat Hanh

Another shot from my archives of last summer. Not sure what kind of turtle this is. Seen at the Heritage Park Pond - Blacksburg Virginia - May 2010.

Wednesday Wings ~ Defending His Family

Our most basic instinct is not for survival but for family. Most of us would give our own life for the survival of a family member, yet we lead our daily life too often as if we take our family for granted.

Reeds Watercolor

Here is a large scale watercolor of reeds -- that has taken some time to complete.
I am really happy with the palette -- and the complexity of the piece. There is a sultry character to this painting... that is sometimes missing in my other work.

Will frame it tomorrow for an exhibition.
