I don't know about you, but I never tire of seeing beautiful wedding gowns. The more voluminous, the more lace, the more bedecked with roses, ribbons, and finery, the better. Not that more subtle gowns hold less appeal--no, I do swoon over them, as well. But nothing catches my eye like a romantic gown, full of layer upon layer of billowing fabrics, gowns with dramatic back designs, and dresses made of the finest lace.

Something about the look of old-fashioned lace just seems timelessly romantic, to me. I'm loving these contemporary takes on doily design. I'm especially enamored of the pendant light, and the way it throws beautiful intricate patterns of shadows and light.

: bliss : black & white wedding

As always, black and white looks striking and chic, to me. And that goes for wedding themes. I think that the b&w theme is timeless, just as a wedding should be. Not to mention, it photographs well. Bridesmaids certainly appreciate having a fabulous LBD to wear post-wedding day. For added color, I think Tiffany blue, pale pink, lavender, or yellow would look beautiful paired with black and white.

Most brides find themselves wondering which style of veil to wear, if any. Whether long, short, cascading, trimmed with ribbon, beads, or lace, scallop-edged, and so on, the choice of veil is a major one. I've heard it is best to try on each style of veil, while wearing the wedding gown. That seems sensible to me. Of course, brides start to daydream of the perfect veil, when they are envisioning their dream gown. So, here are some veil ideas, which I hope you will find inspiring. I, for one, am currently favoring the vintage birdcage style. But I always love a long billowing veil, for dramatic effect!
