Work has been quieter at the moment. It is the lull period when customers go on holidays, don't go past the deli on the way to work or don't go to school. So it is a great time to take a few days off and relax ourselves.
Alan and I took a few days off and just pottered around the house and did nothing much; slept in, ate more, and relaxed. We came back to work last week and are sitting tight

Iced Vovos
I started to feel the urge to *create* a few new biscuits again. I go through fazes of creating. And this year I have my one word, create.
So, I am going through all my oldest books and going through all Nanas books again. I am more about re-creating the classics at the moment.
So going back to the Iced Vovos is just part and parcel with it.

The Great Biscuit Challenge - Mint Slice teaser
Have you heard about our Arnotts Challenge?
We have been having all sorts of fun making and remaking all the biscuits from the Arnotts Challenge.
So I just wanted to let you know that I am working on the Mint Slice Biscuit at the moment!
I am just going to throw out some teaser photos if you haven't been into the deli to taste the testers!
The Mint Slice recipe is still in "testing"

The Great Biscuit Challenge - The Kongston
Look, I have to tell you honestly this is not one of my favourite Arnotts biscuits. I find them very similar to the Monte Carlo biscuit with just a different filling. What do you think? We had alot of requests for this one.....
So, I powered on and came up with these little beauties......the tip here is because they puff up so much it is better to roll and cut out the cookies instead of rolling

The Great Biscuit Challenge - Hundreds and Thousands Biscuits
I use to love these biscuits as a kid. I don't remember having them except for at birthday parties.
What is your favourite Aussie Biscuit? We might have a bash at making them if you want!
So for the second Biscuit Challenge I chose these biscuits.
The method that I worked on when I was making this biscuit recipe was that I wanted a shortbread that wasn't overly buttery but still soft on

The Great Aussie Biscuit Challenge - Monte Coconut
How many Arnotts biscuits can you name?
And which ones are your favourites?
I was eating an Iced Vovo the other day and started wondering how they were made and if I could make them as well. Alan and I were talking about doing other flavours of the Arnotts range and record one versus the other.
"why don't you try to make a few of them?"
So that is what I am going to do.......I am going to
