Men's Trend: The Printed Bomber

November 9. The day Kanye West took to the stage at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show in New York. Sporting the jungle print quilted bomber jacket courtesy of Versace for H&M’s sold-out collection. Ever since Kanye’s green and gold leopard patterned debut, it seems the only way is print.

If you wear one printed item this Spring/Summer it has got to be the bomber jacket. Perfect for keeping with the upcoming season's equally important Sports Luxe trend. Blame the Olympics people. Not me.

Kanye seems to be the go-to-guy with this specific trend. Givenchy's Leopard print bomber has been spotted on the Gold Digger singer and the Zoe Project's Brad Goreski. Versace and Givenchy aside, Catwalk creators such as Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabanna's youthful sister label D&G also had a go.

McQueen took a futuristic metallic spin on the trend crafting silver patented bombers. Whilst D&G adopted to display a 1950s Americana touch with a Grease Lightning inspired theme running throughout.

Other noteworthy wearers come from the likes of Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, Miss Mischa B and Rita Ora. All spotted donning a printed/patterned bomber in some shape or form. Be it paisley, chain, metallic, quilted, silk or otherwise.

The great element about this trend is its versatility. A plain vest top with a beanie or trilby and some gold statement jewellery are perfect for the upcoming festival season. Whilst pairing with oxford style shirts or denim shirts buttoned all the way up are great for the more formal aspect of this trend. Skinny fit coloured trousers/chinos/denims finish the look.

What further proof do you need? I'm currently waiting on my own gold chain and insect patterned silk cotton bomber jacket to arrive from ebay. I had purchased another one from America. It was vintage. Aztec printed. Unfortunately I forgot to pay for it and have now been blacklisted by the ebayer in question. My bad.
