Skywatch Friday - A Place to Watch the Sun Set

One of the most satisfying experiences I know is fully to appreciate an individual in the same way I appreciate a sunset. When I look at a sunset...I don't find myself saying, 'Soften the orange a litle more on the right hand corner, and put a bit more purple along the base, and use a little more pink in the cloud color...' I don't try to control a sunset. I watch it with awe as it unfolds.

Carl R. Rogers

My wish for today and everyday -

Allow me to appreciate each individual for who they are - and watch with awe as they "unfold".

Skywatch Friday - Before the Storm

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.

~ Rabindranath Tagore

The morning before our winter storm of 02/19/12 was sunny and gorgeous. But that afternoon the clouds rolled in. I saw this "saucer" like cloud and just had to pull out my iPhone and snap it! You can see a bit of the sunburst that I caught too. I think this type of cloud is called a Lenticular cloud - which you can read more about - HERE

Skywatch Friday - The Sun Sets

When the evening sky is painted Crimson by the setting sun, And the birds all cease to twitter, Knowing that the day is done, It is then we like to ponder And, forgetting worldly strife, Realize that love and friendship Are the greatest things in life.

Skywatch Friday - Live The Life You've Imagined

Another iPhone pic! (I added the text of course) This was a chance shot ... I looked up.... saw the plane that looked like it was "flying to the moon" and thought - that would make a great skywatch shot! Taken 02-03-12.

Skywatch Friday - Rising

In the morning, everything is new.

The day's blank slate lies before me,

ready for my writing.

May it be words of beauty I write.

May it be deeds of grace I do.

May it be thoughts of joy I think.

Be like the bird in flight . . . pausing a while on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, yet sings knowing yet, that she has wings.

Skywatch Friday - Sun Setting on the Branches

Life is the fire that burns and the sun that gives light. Life is the wind and the rain and the thunder in the sky. Life is matter and is earth, what is and what is not, and what beyond is in Eternity.
