Men's Trend: Sports Luxe

So the Olympics are slowly creeping upon us and with the Games arriving in London this summer and Stella McCartney lending her hand to the Adidas Team GB Collection, the coming months will see the Sports Luxe trend reach an all time high.

From Ralph Lauren to Tommy Hilfiger and Abercrombie & Fitch, Varsity/Collegiate looks have always played an integral role on the Catwalk and the high-street. Taking inspiration from Tennis, Polo and Rugby to name a few, this trend is perfect for Spring/Summer boasting free, light materials in pastel shades and stripes.

A personal favourite is Topman Ltds vintage 'Sportsday' inspired take on the trend. Nautical vests, printed shorts and polo shirts, "Sportsday merges together a dose of heritage chic influenced by a British prep school feel with a more relaxed hand-me-down styling."

The best way to wear the trend is to mix and match. Chinos will go with everything from the badge embellished blazers to striped vests. Another hand in hand tip is to combine the sporty looks with the more retro touch of Americana.

So denim jeans and cropped jackets plus headbands and converse style high-tops. Preferably white. The Drive influenced varsity bomber jacket is also a nice touch for any Sport Luxe hopefuls out there.

Topman's Ltd 'Sportsday' collection is available to purchase in selected stores and online now. Take a look at the Rugby Ralph Lauren ad below for some light inspiration.
