Justin Sherman, born January 26, 1987, is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. Like many professional athletes, Sherman was skilled at a number of different sports including cricket but wisely chose to pursue an AFL football career. Sherman usually plays as a midfielder but can also play at forward pocket and short deep half-forward and half back line. Sherman was recruited as the number 45 draft pick in the 2004 AFL Draft from Clarence. He made his debut for the Brisbane Lions in Round 4, 2005 against Hawthorn. In only his second season of AFL football, Sherman was voted the Runner-Up in the 2006 Brisbane Lions Best & Fairest award. Sherman's abilities were not restricted to just sports. He was also an aspiring rock star who was a member of a band through high school. In fact, had it not been for his football pursuits, Sherman may well have made an impact in the Australian music industry.
