EMBOSSED

Yet another example of how nicely can the techniques for other media be applied to polymer clay, these pastel-colored pendants made by Shannon Le Vart combine polymer clay and embossing powders. What a beautiful interpretation of a traditional paper-stamping technique!

Find these and other pendants, earrings, and rings in missficklemedia.etsy.com.

INTERESTING

You will find many different designs in the shop of Rachelle Pryden, EllePdesigns.etsy.com, but the three below are my favorites. I wish she made more jewelry in this style – it looks so original and interesting!

Watercolor Portraits!

CERAMIC

Yes, it is still polymer clay! So far, we've seen polymer clay items that looked as if they were made out of leather, wood, glass... Today's collection from BlossomArts.etsy.com successfully mimics the distinctive look of glazed ceramics.

Wishcastin Wednesday: I Send You Love!

***It's WishCasting Wednesday!***

Whew! It's been a whirlwind of a week-- barely a moment to blog! I've been let out of class early on a Glorious Spring-like day and it feels like a perfect time to spin a wish! This week, our Wishtress Jamie asks us to contemplate, “Who do you wish to send Love to?”
So, I’m stepping up to the Mic of The Universe:
*tap tap* Is this thing on?

I wish to send Love to my brother,
You are doing what you Love! Love what you do!

I wish to send Love to my sister,
You are changing the world with your gifts!

I wish to send Love to my Mom,
You are a Force of Nature and a most a clever witch.

I wish to send Love to my Dad,
A Soul of impeccable Sweetness, the kindest I’ve ever known.

I wish to send Love to my Muffin,
My affectionate, understanding and dearest partner in crime.

I wish to send Love to my fellow students
As they wrack their brains for graduation,
Some Miles, some days, some years from Home--
Know comfort, know the satisfaction of ACCOMPLISHMENT, know Sleep!

I wish to send Love to The Blogosphere,
These Women, These Artists, These Poets
In constant transformation
My comrades, my gurus, my Girls.

I wish to send Love to the Earth,
To the dirt
To the wet places
With hope that it heals.

I wish to send Love to the Lonely,
To the Frightened
To the Broken.

To the Overwhelmed.
Don’t despair, friends—

SHE is listening.

Who do you wish to send Love to?
Step up! The Mic is On.~*

ELEGANT

Elegant simplicity is the theme of Vicki Cockroft's jewelry. Vicki uses polymer clay to create just a touch of color and sets her hand-made beads in silver and silver-plated settings to create earrings, necklaces, and bracelets that may be found in her Etsy shop.

I love Vicki's description of her studio. She says: ”My workshop is situated in the Welsh countryside near Llanrhaeadr waterfall.” It must be a really beautiful place...

SHOUT OUT- watercolor

This tongue-in-cheek watercolor is a preliminary look at an idea i'm thinking about painting. a double portrait with the latter panel doing a shout out.....

it's a response to Sara Palin's use of the phrase... as well as the way i feel right now.. in regards to what's happening in the economy.

PECULIAR

I love the simplicity and clean designs found in this shop: PeculiarForest.etsy.com.

“Peculiar” has many meanings, but I think the one meant here is “exclusive, belonging only to a particular person, place, time, etc.”

Louise, a young artist from Essex, UK, is the author of these original designs. See more of her work in her photo album.

I know I should be blogging...

But I'm just so lazy!!

Anyway I'm still photoshopping the trillions of photos I have uploaded, so soon I'll update!

Meanwhile, here's someone who doesn't need photoshopping...

Pumpkin! Who now has hair long enough to be tied up into a top knot! Tying top knots are not only pretty, but actually good for the dogs, as the hair falling into their eyes often irritate them.

Juicy couture ribbon!

And one more of me in the cab going to meet Ringo...

Love ya all!

p/s: Ok you people need to stop harping on the flash thing. I've googled it, and there is no concrete proof that a camera's flash will hurt a dog's eyes anymore than it would hurt a human's.

12 Secrets: Consulting with Guides: My Heronines

The 12 Secrets of Highly Creative Women
Secret Seven: Consulting with Guides

This week I thought we'd do something different. Instead of me relating all of the exercise details from the book in a long incoherent babbly post, I've created The Wall of HerSpeak Heroine Guides. These ladies are all living, passed, imaginary and inspirational teachers that I look to to get "the juice". While this list is breif, as I have chosen to focus on stictly on my personal favorite famous female artists and leaders, I hope you enjoy interacting with the wall!
