Designer Spotlight: Giaroye

Walking around the authentic market stalls of Brick Lane's budding and thriving hotspots, I came across a varsity inspired sport's jacket. The colour royal blue. The style cropped and fitted to perfection with a single red stripe lining the arms and bold buttons completing the preppy packed detailing.

Naturally I tried it on, rolled up the sleeves, flicked up the collar. Unsurprisingly its now in my wardrobe. Courtesy of British independent men's fashion label Giaroye. The men behind the brand are Gia and Roye, BA Fashion graduates specialising in design and technology.

Gia “We wanted to create a brand based on our fundamental vision for men’s clothing being contemporary. Good quality fabrics with attention to detailing and finishing”.

The pair had originally envisaged starting out with a ladieswear line as it seemed the most sensible at the time. Gia and Roye thankfully saw a gap in the menswear market focusing on a collection true to the young Brit Male's mentality and as a result the young Brit Male's style.

"Giaroye Clothing captures the essence of Britain, embracing its traditions with elements of inner city youth culture. Its influences are mirrored in the look, easy to wear, casual smart… all the proper components with a touch of Brit heritage."

The A/W collection boasts a 'Lads of the 90s theme' with semi-tailored silhouttes in a range of Waxed Coated Cottons, Herringbone, Wool and Coated Cotton Teflons. Its clean, its crisp, simplistic and minimal with a sophisticated and classic twist throughout.

Perfect to style both up and down. More importantly, must have additions to your Sport's Luxe filled wardrobe as the current trend sweeps the nation. Their literally isn't a single piece of clothing from Giaroye that I do not like. And I'm generally not easy to please.

Giaroye manufacture their collections in the UK using British mills to buy their fabrics taking pride in being a Brit led fashion label embodying English made garments. Every item is a limited edition with only around 20 of each garment being produced.
