H&M Crowns Design Award Winner

London College of Fashion Graduate turned full-time designer Stine Riis has walked away with the Global winner of the H&M Design Award 2012. Not to mention the 50,000 euro cash prize.

The 28 year old, who currently resides in Copenhagen and is of Danish decent, stated in an interview on the H&M design award page "At the moment I’m obsessed with pocket details and straps inspired by the chic Parisians in the 50′s. Also the simplicity in the shapes of the 90’s is a favorite." Her favorite historic designer? Yves Saint Laurent of course.

With high hopes of starting her own fashion label one day, the future looks bright for Riis who walked away with the newly created award whose colorful and futuristic creations will be showcased in selected stores in the coming months.

Judging panels were created from six hotspot destinations including the UK, Sweden and Germany with a seventh panel formed from a selected International team "of some of the most well-known and influential people on the global fashion scene today." The event was held in Stockholm.

Anne Bosman also walked away with The H&M Design Award 2012 People's Prize. Bosman will be given an internship for one month at Christopher Kane's studio in London.
